Urgent Letter to Robert Jenning MP #NoOneLeftOut
The Everyone In policy has been so valuable in accommodating rough sleepers during the Covid-19 pandemic. We have taken part in a campaign urging government to extend the Everyone In policy so that all people experiencing homelessness are able to access safe and secure accommodation for the entirety of the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond. This government provision has been one that is very welcome and should continue.

HOPE HOUSING'S EXERCISE GURU
Whilst we are all in lockdown it is very important that we all make sure we keep doing exercise and stay active. This month we launch our first client newsletter to help the staff and the clients cope during this time and keep us all smiling. Thierry kindly put together an easy exercise routine that we can all do in our own living rooms as one of the features. It was too good to keep to ourselves.
LILLAY LIGHT KITCHEN
We are so excited that Isabelle for Lillay Light Kitchen has put together two videos showing how to cook a delicious Eggplant Lasagne and Chilli Con Carne as part of our client Newsletter. Take a look at the links below to see how to cook these mouth-watering meals.
HOPE HOUSING'S 10TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS
On Friday February 1st, almost 100 people came to St Matthews Church, Bradford to celebrate. We ate lots of food (it seemed like 4 courses), listened to various people (including Project Manager, Helen and Pastor Pete from Green Pastures) talking about homelessness and the Bradford response over the years and chatted to each other about stuff. Pete inspired us to carry on the good work. There was a lovely mixture of people - staff, volunteers, supporters, beneficiaries and family members. Many thanks to all who worked so hard to prepare for the day - particularly Ulli, who managed the project - and then delivered on the night. Special mention to those who washed up several hundred individual items of crockery and cutlery during the evening.
DONATE YOUR OLD MOBILE
Mobile phones make a massive difference to supporting homeless people off the streets, as when hostels / housing providers have vacancies they are able to contact the client to give them that valuable space. We are looking for working phones with chargers. Please ensure they have been factory re-set to remove your information and give us details of the network they are connected to. Please hand in or post to our office: Hope Housing, Millside House, 131 Grattan Road, Bradford, BD1 2HS
2018 - HOPE HOUSING AWAY DAY
Our Hope Housing away day saw clients, staff and friends of Hope Housing coming together in a fun bike ride along Shipley canal. The air was fresh, the exercise invigorating and the company utterly pleasant. We had good laughs along the way and it was great to connect while enjoying nature. We stopped for a comforting coffee break in the cafe at five-rise-locks in Bingley after which we cycled back to Robert’s Park where we sought shelter from the rain while devouring great lunches brought to us by David and Thierry. Thus, despite the British weather showing its best side we were having a great time and a much needed break. It is safe to say we are looking forward to the next away day! :)
The MCF Bikery Shipley was really kind in lending us the cycles for the ride, which was greatly appreciated.
